Distinctive Silver Jewelry

The Artist/Designer

Orion Arts designer, Marge Langmuir, has had a life-long interest in arts and crafts in many different media. Recent courses in jewelry design and glass working at the DeCordova Museum and at Snow Farm inspired her to start her own design shop to produce jewelry incorporating fine silver, fashioned from precious metals clay (PMC), semi-precious stones, Swarovski beads, fresh water pearls, lampwork beads and dichroic glass.

Marge holds a PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University. She started her career teaching chemistry at Wellesley College, and ended her career as Vice President of a company that did contract work for NASA, the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. Now retired, she enjoys working with the advanced scientific materials she once used in her research as a chemist. Dichroic glass that she once used as interference filters now glints and gleams in pendants, earrings and bracelets, surrounded by pure silver, formed from a material similar to what she once used to make electrical contact to semi-conductors.

Marge’s striking one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces go equally well with casual wear, high-fashion and formal wear. She hopes that you will enjoy looking at the gallery of her work in this web site as much as she enjoyed creating it.
